Free and forced vibrations of damped locally-resonant sandwich beams

چکیده
This paper addresses the dynamics of locally-resonant sandwich beams, where multi-degree-of-freedom viscously-damped resonators are periodically distributed within core matrix. Using an equivalent single-layer Timoshenko beam model coupled with mass-spring-dashpot subsystems representing resonators, two solution methods presented. The first is a direct integration method providing exact frequency response under arbitrary loads. second complex modal analysis approach obtaining impulse and functions, upon deriving appropriate orthogonality conditions for modes. challenging issue calculating all eigenvalues, without missing anyone, solved applying recently-introduced contour-integral algorithm to characteristic equation built as determinant frequency-response matrix, whose size $4 \times 4$ regardless number resonators. Numerical applications prove exactness robustness proposed solutions.

Damped vibrations Problem of beams Fixed on the rotational Disk
The problem considered in this paper is one of damped vibrations of the beam in transportation. The dynamical analysis of systems in motion is a very well-known issue, but many detailed cases have not been published yet. The considered case is applied with the double-sided fixed beams placed on a rotational disk. The disk treated as a rigid one is rotated with a constant angular velocity in the...
متن کاملResonant vibrations of free cylinders and disks
A complete solution is obtained for nonaxisymmetric resonant vibrations of a free cylinder or disk involving infinite sums. For axisymmetric longitudinal vibrations an alternative to previous solutions is included. In principle, the solutions satisfy exactly the stress-free boundary conditions, in contrast to the approximate bending-mode solutions due to Pickett or approximate solutions based o...
متن کاملAxial and Torsional Free Vibrations of Elastic Nano-Beams by Stress-Driven Two-Phase Elasticity
Size-dependent longitudinal and torsional vibrations of nano-beams are examined by two-phase mixture integral elasticity. A new and efficient elastodynamic model is conceived by convexly combining the local phase with strain- and stress-driven purely nonlocal phases. The proposed stress-driven nonlocal integral mixture leads to well-posed structural problems for any value of the scale parameter...

The aim of present study is to investigate the effect of various parameters such as length, thickness, density, shear modulus of the core and Young modulus of skins for various boundary conditions: clamped-free and simply supported. By applying the model of Khalili et al for frees vibration analysis of sandwich beams by using finite element methods. Where, the core density is taken on consider...
متن کاملOn Static Bending, Elastic Buckling and Free Vibration Analysis of Symmetric Functionally Graded Sandwich Beams
This article presents Navier type closed-form solutions for static bending, elastic buckling and free vibration analysis of symmetric functionally graded (FG) sandwich beams using a hyperbolic shear deformation theory. The beam has FG skins and isotropic core. Material properties of FG skins are varied through the thickness according to the power law distribution. The present theory accounts fo...
